John H. Gilbert

John H. Gilbert, of Arnold, died on Thursday, September 22, 2011. He graduated Bowie High School in 1973 and earned a degree in Hotel Management from Cornell University in 1977, where he played basketball. John was a Southern Maryland SCORE Mentor, who loved playing golf. He was also known to beat on a Kettle Drum now and again. Beloved son of Ann Gilbert of Ft. Myers, FL and the late Bud Gilbert; loving father of Timothy John Gilbert and his wife Jennifer of Annapolis and Taylor Lynn Gilbert of Arnold; dear brother of Diane E. Arch of Bowie, Gary W. Gilbert and his wife Bonnie of Springdale and the late Jeff Gilbert. Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 7 to 9pm, where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10am. Interment, Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
