Hulda Louise Coomes

Louise Coomes, 89, a 14 year resident of Bowie, MD, formerly of Ardmore, MD for 75 years passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. She was born on November 7, 1919 in Washington, D.C. Louise attended Ardmore Elementary School, Maryland Park High School and Strayer Secretarial College. She worked as a secretary for the Federal Aviation Administration for 38 years.She was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Bowie, MD, was the Grand Esther in 1988 for the Grand Chapter of Maryland Order of the Eastern Star and a Volunteer Hospital Guild for Prince Georges Hospital.Louise was a fan of baseball and enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting and traveling.She is survived by her cousins, Ernest Clifford of Silver Spring, MD, Mary Jane Stalworthy of Baltimore, MD and Jeanne Snyder of Ottsville, PAand her life-long friend, Mickey Fisher and her family. Family will receive friends at the family owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 from 1:00pm until service time, 4:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Washington, D.C. on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 11:00am.
