Richard N. Miles

Capt. Richard Nelson Miles, USN (Ret.) Dick?, 77, a 3 ½ year resident of Bowie, MD and formerly of Carmichael, CA passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009. He was born on July 9, 1931 in Auburn, CA and later graduated from University of California, Berkeley where he earned a BA in Naval Science. He was employed by White Motor Corp. and Suburban Ford. He enjoyed gardening and football. Beloved husband of the late Lucille Nelson (November 2005); Devoted father of Diane L. Tidwell (Lee) of Bowie, MD and Dayna Cahn of Dublin, CA and the late Kenneth Miles; dear brother of Dodie Schurter of Huntington Beach, CA and the late Lillian Parmley, Fred Miles, Bert Miles, Norval Miles, Delmar Johnson and Robert Johnson; Also survived by 4 loving grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the family owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 6:00-8:00pm. Interment, Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 11:00am. Please arrive at the Administration Building no later than 10:30am.
