Andrew Lloyd Forsyth was born July 14, 1951 in Pomona California to the late Lloyd and Jane (Perry) Forsyth and died December 22, 2025 in Maryland of cardiac arrest. Andy is survived by his wife, Marilyn Estep Forsyth; two sons Matthew and David Forsyth; daughter-in-law Bobbi Forsyth; stepson Kevin Estep; two granddaughters Noell and Norah Forsyth; and three younger brothers Chris, Brad and Mike Forsyth.
Andy grew up in Southern California and graduated from Pomona High School in 1969. He played baseball, football, and ran cross country in High School. Andy surfed when he was younger in California, later in life he authored a book about his surfing adventures.
Upon graduating from High School, Andy attended California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Andy was a handball player in college and transitioned to racquetball where he won many tournaments, he even finished second in the Maryland state championships one year.
After his second year of college Andy joined the Army. He was chosen for a position as Administrative Specialist/Office Manager at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. He was the person who gave out duty assignments to Army personnel. During his time at the Pentagon Andy received a letter of admission to complete his education at West Point. He declined the offer due to his upcoming marriage. Andy was a proud United States Army veteran who honorably served his country during the Vietnam Era.
Before leaving the Army Andy married his first wife Cecelia Perry in 1972 and they settled in Crofton, Maryland, they were married until her death in 2005.
Upon leaving the Army, Andy went back to college and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1978 with a BA degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. Andy started his career working for the Federal Government and later various companies that contracted with the Federal Government where he provided computer support and programming in 28 programming languages.
Prior to Andy's retirement he met his second wife Marilyn Estep and they were married in June 2014. Andy and Marilyn enjoyed traveling and attending Trop Rock music events. Andy became an organizer for the Key West event called Trop Rock Nā Duval. Because of his love for Trop Rock music Andy authored a book highlighting the songs and stories of various Trop Rock artists.
Before retiring he purchased a Trop Rock radio station called BeachFront Radio. Andy loved Trop Rock music and the parrot head nation. In his later years he was an avid pickleball player, he lived and breathed it. He was the club pro for the Burke Center Pickleball Club. He enjoyed doing things like inviting his Trop Rock artist friends to write songs about pickleball and compiling CD's of these songs.
Andy was an active member of the Catholic church and trusted in Jesus as his Savior. Andy enjoyed many hobbies which included playing the guitar, singing and directing a folk group at Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church. Andy loved raising his children and later enjoying time with his granddaughters. He also enjoyed getting together with his family in California.
Andy truly loved his family and friends. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be missed by all who knew him.
