Ann Warren Coleman Ross

Ann Coleman Ross, born on December 26, 1933, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at her assisted living facility, Arbor Terrace Waugh Chapel in Gambrills, Maryland.

Ann was the daughter of the late Warren E. Coleman and Indie W. Flinn. She grew up in Manassas, Virginia, the town she would eventually return to for her final resting place. On July 23, 1955, she married her beloved husband, Donald Ross, and the two shared 57 beautiful years of marriage until Don’s passing on August 16, 2012. In 1956, Ann graduated from Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education English. The couple moved to New Carrollton, Maryland, in 1961, built a deeply devoted family and were actively involved in the community. As a faithful servant of the Lanham United Methodist Church family, Ann took on many roles serving as Recording Secretary, Member of the Administrative Board, United Methodist Women, and even displayed her musical talents as a member of the church’s handbell choir. Ann’s life was defined by her gentle grace, her steadfast faith, and the immense pride she took in her family. She was an avid sports fan for her sons and followed the Maryland and Washington teams to the end. Ann was a talented crafter and left us many family heirlooms for which we will remember her and cherish forever. 

She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law: John Coleman (Mary) Ross, Warren Campbell (Vicki) Ross, and Thomas Morrow (Emily) Ross. She leaves behind a rich legacy through her cherished grandchildren: Virginia (Brian) Buckus, Matthew Ross, Olivia Ross, Courtney (Mark) Wagner, Emily (Jeff) King, Robert Ross, Whitney (Austin) McCarron, and Kelsi Ross. Ann was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her later years: Shay, Brynn, Logan, Nathan, Elijah, Everett, and Mason.

A service and interment will take place at 12Noon on September 19, 2026, at Stonewall Memorial Gardens in Manassas, Virginia where she will be laid to rest next to Don. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ann's memory to Gilchrist Hospice. She will be profoundly missed but remains forever in the hearts of the many generations she nurtured, loved, and inspired.
