Annalisa DeBacco Overstreet, M.D., beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, physician, and friend, passed away at her home in Crownsville, Maryland, on October 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with gallbladder cancer. She was 46 years old.
Annalisa was born on July 14, 1980, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, to Ronald Eugene DeBacco and Jane Oliver DeBacco. She grew up in Latrobe and Greensburg and graduated from Greater Latrobe High School before attending Gettysburg College, where she studied Religion and Pre-Medicine. She went on to attend Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and completed her residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Annalisa met Michael Glen Overstreet in 2002 and they married on April 28, 2007, in Baltimore, Maryland. They built a life centered on faith and family and shared the joys and challenges of raising their sons, Joseph Orlando and Timothy Michael. The greatest happiness of her life was being a mother – she cherished her sons and delighted in the ordinary moments of family life. She was a devoted baseball mom, supporting her boys and Michael in their sports endeavors, or simply gathering together to watch an O’s game and spend time together.
Annalisa began her medical career with Annapolis ENT in 2012, where she remained until her diagnosis in 2025. She found in otolaryngology a specialty that allowed her to care for patients across every stage of life and to make a meaningful difference in their lives. She especially loved caring for children, whose enthusiasm energized her and whose trust she earned through her calm, compassionate, and loving manner.
Those who knew Annalisa as a physician will remember not only her medical skill, but the personal attention she gave to each person she met in an exam room. She listened – often giving patients more time than was expected or convenient – because she valued everyone she encountered. She believed that every person possesses a God-given dignity and therefore deserved her attention, respect, and love. That belief shaped the way she practiced medicine and the way she treated people in every part of her life. Even when faced with a devastating prognosis, Annalisa trusted in God's plan, whatever it may be.
Annalisa was known for her quick wit, dry humor, and easy laugh and will be deeply missed by her husband, Michael; her sons, Joey and Timmy; her parents, Ron and Janey DeBacco; her sister, Maria (and Gil) File; her in-laws Glen and Cindy Overstreet, Melissa (and Mike) Cleveland, and Matt (and Brittany) Overstreet; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; her colleagues and friends; and the countless patients whose lives she touched as a physician. Above all, she was a mother who loved her boys deeply and a woman who sought to live her faith by loving and serving the people God placed in her path. Her greatest legacy will be her sons, who will carry her love and example with them throughout their lives.
