Obituary for Antoinette Victoria Wallace

May 19, 1954 – October 31, 2025

Antoinette Victoria Wallace, also known as “Vicky,” was born on May 19, 1954, in Washington, DC, to the late Emerson Lee and Yetta (Livingston) Nathan. She peacefully returned to heaven on October 31, 2025, at the age of 71.

Vicky was the eldest daughter in her large family and embraced her role as the family matriarch following her mother’s passing. She grew up in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, where she graduated from high school before pursuing a degree at the University of Maryland, College Park. In 1973, Vicky met the love of her life, Kenneth Duane Wallace, while working at the post office in DC. They married in 1978 and together raised three children — Kenneth, Damon, and Renee. Their family’s journey took them across the world, living in California, Germany, and Texas before finally settling back home in Maryland.

In 1980, Vicky proudly supported her country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. After her service, she pursued a variety of professional roles and ultimately retired from the federal government in 2018 as a Printing SVC Specialist for the Government Printing Office.

Vicky’s true joy in life was to love and uplift those around her. She devoted countless hours to her community and to helping others. She volunteered for organizations such as the Girl Scouts of America and the Lions Club and participated in the Good People Organization. Over the years, Vicky hosted walking groups, participated in cancer support circles (a breast cancer survivor, herself), and contributed to community organizations in every city she lived in. She ran school supply drives, clothing drives, cancer walks, and quilting groups that’s donations went to churches and hospitals and people within the community. Her compassion, generosity, and unwavering support came in ways big and small, even in the form of a simple “Good Morning” text.

Those who knew Vicky will remember her as a beautiful soul, warm, thoughtful, and always ready to lend an ear or extend a helping hand. Her home with Ken was always open and over the years they welcomed many people to stay with them, including family members, friends, and cousins, Ivan and Isis, whom they lovingly fostered for several years.

Vicky loved life and all its celebrations. She had a passion for good food, strong cocktails, laughter, and gathering with loved ones. Vicky loved to travel. After her retirement she was often away on quilting trips, vacations, trips to Florida and of course, Jamacia. Whether hosting holidays, organizing family events, or enjoying dinners and happy hours with friends, Vicky’s joy and vivacity was contagious.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Reginald; sisters, Gail and Diane; and several beloved family members and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory-her beloved husband, Ken; her children, Kenneth, Damon (Tina), and Renee (Paul) and goddaughter Denise; her grandchildren, Anthony, Lily and Leah; her brothers, James, Dale, and Robert; her sisters, Denise and Patricia; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, dear friends, and all whose lives she so deeply touched.

Vicky’s legacy of love, kindness, and service will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
