Arnold was born on June 10th 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to John & Fay Bruckner, the younger brother to his sister Sondra. After Arnold’s birth, the family first moved to Rochester, New York, and then several years later to Cleveland, OH.

Arnie’s father passed in Arnie’s early 20s. As a result, his brother-in-law, Sydney Fleck, became a father figure and guided him to the profession of law.

Arnie started his undergraduate education at the University of Miami at Ohio, completed undergraduate studies at George Washington in Washington D.C., and went on to finish his Juris Doctorate at G.W. as well.

He worked for the F.P.C., the F.A.A., and the United States Postal Service, where he earned a patent for a mail tray. He met a beautiful Southern lady, Joyce Ann Turner, at the F.P.C. They fell in love and were married in 1967, and recently celebrated 56 years of marriage together. Joyce and Arnie were blessed with two children, Monica and Eric.

Arnie started his own practice in the basement of their Bowie, Maryland home. When Joyce graduated law school, she joined Arnie and they practiced together for many years.

The family moved to Columbia, Maryland in 1978 where they lived for 40 years. As Monica and Eric grew up, Arnie and Joyce worked long hours at their family law practice.

Arnie’s hobbies included flying, sailing, cars, and music. He was a man of many talents, and he loved his family dearly. He was always a good provider and travelled the world with his favorite companion, Joyce.

Arnie and Joyce moved to Davidsonville in 2018, when they bought a house with Jon, Monica, & Andrea. Arnie lived there until August of 2023, when moved to Tribute at Melford, where he quickly became a beloved resident. His personality, jokes and good nature made him a staff favorite. After bravely battling Lewy-body dementia, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes for many years, he finally succumbed to the diseases on July 20th 2024.

He is missed and loved by many, many friends and clients that he served, his family; wife Joyce, daughter Monica Carrier(Jon), son Eric Bruckner(Kristen), grandchildren, Cameron McKee, Elisabeth Carrier, Andrea Carrier and Bridget Bruckner.

Nieces and nephews: Stephie Morin, Gary Fleck, Barry Fleck, and Nancy Wilkinson
