In Loving Memory of Babatunde Adeniran Adedayo

January 8, 1983 – September 17, 2026

It is with profound sorrow, yet deep gratitude for the life he lived, that we celebrate the life and legacy of Babatunde Adeniran Adedayo, affectionately known as Prins, Thickums, Ade, and OmoOba, who departed this life on September 17, 2026, at the age of 43.

Born on January 8, 1983, in Ile-Ife, Nigeria, Ade was the beloved son of Babatunde Adebayo Adedayo and Olufunmilayo Iyabode Adedayo. As the first son of his father, who was himself the first son of Prince Samuel Adeniran Adedayo, Ade held a special place within his family. He also shared a particularly loving bond with his paternal grandmother, affectionately known as Mama Pupa, whose care and devotion left a lasting impression on him.

From childhood, Ade was known for his playful spirit, vibrant personality, strong will, and ability to bring energy wherever he went. He was protective, creative, and deeply devoted to those he loved.

Ade was proudly Nigerian and deeply connected to his Yoruba roots. His heritage was more than where he came from; it was part of how he understood himself. He took a genuine interest in his family history and genealogy and carried the Adedayo name with pride. He valued the stories of previous generations and understood the importance of knowing where one comes from.

Ade attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. Creativity came naturally to him. He had an artistic eye, an innovative mind, and an ability to imagine possibilities that others might not see.

That passion eventually led him to entrepreneurship. He founded PrinStudio, a graphic design company through which he transformed his creativity into a business. He went on to pursue several other ventures and frequently encouraged others in developing their own ideas and businesses. Ade dreamed big. He was ambitious, inventive, and willing to create his own path. His work reflected not only his talent but his belief that ideas could become something meaningful through hard work.

To know Ade was to love him. Not only was his laugh contagious, he was charismatic and strong-minded—and as those closest to him knew, he could be very stubborn—but that determination was also part of what helped him persevere through difficult moments. Ade loved people and enjoyed bringing them together. He was a social butterfly who could make a gathering livelier simply by being there. He had a way of making people feel welcome and his confidence and vivacious personality drew people to him.

He loved music, especially Afrobeats. He was an excellent cook, but enjoyed eating a delicious meal even more. He enjoyed celebrations, conversations, and simply being surrounded by people. There was rarely a dull moment when Ade was around.

Of all the roles Ade held throughout his life, none was more important to him than that of husband and father. He leaves behind his three beloved children, Oluwademilade Adedayo, Adetoluwani Adedayo, and Oluwafadetimi Adedayo, who remain lovingly cared for by their mother, Olubukola Adedayo. His love for his children was deep and unwavering, and his legacy will continue to live on through them.

He affectionately called them “My Sunshines,” a fitting reflection of the joy they brought into his life. Ade genuinely enjoyed spending time with his children—playing with them, talking with them, and showering them with hugs and kisses. He used everyday opportunities to lovingly teach them lessons about life. They loved being close to their father and would often pile onto him for naps, creating the ordinary but priceless moments that would become cherished lifelong memories.

Although they must now grow without his physical presence, they will never grow without his love or the memories he created with them. May they always know how deeply they were loved, and may they carry forward the best of their father—his creativity, courage, ambition, love of family, and ability to find joy in every part of life.

Ade was a Christian, and his faith in God was an important part of his life. He had a deep sense of purpose and believed he was called to help the helpless and underserved.

He volunteered with Manna Food Center and had a particular compassion for people experiencing homelessness and hardship. He dreamed of someday creating a safe refuge for individuals whose basic needs were not being met. That desire reflected an important part of him: beneath his large personality and ambitious ideas was a genuine concern for people.

Ade’s legacy cannot be measured simply by the number of years he lived. It is found in the children he adored, the family he protected, the friendships he built, the businesses and designs he created, the people he encouraged, and the laughter and memories he leaves behind.

He was a devoted father, beloved son, brother, uncle, loyal friend, and a creative entrepreneur.

His earthly journey may have ended, but his story continues. It continues through his children. Through his mother and siblings. Through his extended family and friends. Through his creativity and the work he created. Through the people he encouraged and helped along the way. And it continues in every person who can say, “I knew Ade. I loved Ade. My life was touched by Ade.”

Though our hearts are heavy with his absence, we remain grateful for the gift of his life—for the laughter, conversations, creative ideas, music, meals, celebrations, lessons, and memories he shared with us.

Babatunde Adeniran Adedayo—Prins, Ade, Thickums, OmoOba—we love you, we miss you, and we will cherish your children and keep your memory alive.

You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
