Barbara M. Wojnowski

With profound sadness, we share the passing of our beloved Barbara Maria Wojnowski, affectionately known as “Basia,” who left us on August 19, 2025, at the age of 75. Barbara was known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and quiet grace that touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Barbara’s story is best told through the loving and vibrant way she lived her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend who brought warmth, compassion, and a shy but radiant smile that instantly put others at ease. Her countless small acts of kindness over her lifetime left a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.

Beyond her loving heart, Barbara was an exceptionally athletic and artistic soul. She ran numerous races throughout her life, earning countless medals and first-place trophies, and proudly completed her first Marine Corps Marathon in 1995—a true testament to her determination and strength. She also possessed remarkable artistic talent, creating beautiful representational paintings and lifelike sketches that reflected her keen eye and gentle nature.

Her passions were as wide and inspiring as her spirit. Barbara loved traveling the world, especially returning to her beloved birthplace in Poland, and embarking on hiking treks across the United States, including unforgettable journeys through the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. She cherished her daily walks along the beach, watching the sunset, and riding her bike along the shoreline paths, always finding joy and peace in the beauty around her.

Above all, Barbara’s greatest passion was her family. She found immense happiness and purpose in spending time with her children and grandchildren, surrounding them with unconditional love, laughter, and compassion. She gave them the greatest gift a mother could offer, her heart.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, John H.E. Wojnowski; her children, Katarzyna B. Bonner and John Max G. Wojnowski; their spouses, Michael and Barbara; and her cherished grandchildren, Zofia, Krystiana, Frank, and Anna. She also leaves behind many dear family members and friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We find comfort in believing she is now reunited with cherished loved ones who went before her, embraced in the eternal peace and love of heaven.

on Thursday, October 16th at 2:00 pm (Please arrive at 1:45 pm) There is one entrance and all family and guests will be directed where to go when they arrive.
