Betty J. Holmes

Betty June Holmes, 88 years young of Bowie, Maryland passed away peacefully in her home on June 29^th, 2023. She was born Betty June Stamey on June 23^rd, 1935. She was one of 8 children born to E. Weldon and Willie L. Stamey.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Billy Houston Holmes and her son, Billy Houston Holmes Jr. She is survived by her daughters; Peggy Kurczewski (John Penkert), Sherry Smith (Mark) and Libby Holmes, as well as 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

She loved going to Bingo, playing cards with her family as well as bowling and going to the horse races. She also loved sitting outside, watching the birds, listening to the rain as well as playing with her dog. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Her soft smile and beautiful blue eyes along with her kind and loving spirit always made everyone feel as if they were family.

She was one of a kind, the matriarch of our family and will always be in our hearts forever, and be our constant sunshine.
