Catherine Smith Carter

August 10, 1937 — November 22, 2021

Catherine A. (Smith) Carter, 84, of Crofton, passed peacefully Monday, November 22, 2021 surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 3rd at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish with Fr. Paul Sparklin officiating. A private burial at Resurrection Cemetery will follow at a later date.

Mrs. Carter was born in Washington, DC, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine Smith. She was also preceded in death by her five brothers, John F., Lawrence D., Francis T., Robert I., and Joseph A. Smith; and two of her sisters, Mary Bright and Eleanor Meyer.

She is survived by her son Sean D. and daughter-in-law Stella Marie of Owings Mills, MD, her sister, Margaret Eskew; one brother-in-law, Pat Bright, one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on the evening of Thursday, December 2nd from 5 – 7 PM at Beall Funeral Home, Bowie, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sisters of St. Joseph – Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, PA.
