Charles Earl Murphy “Rock, Charlie Rock,” 59 of Forestville, MD, entered peaceful rest on October 3, 2025 at Abundance Care Home. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on February 13, 1966. He was the son of the late Roger Earl Murphy, Sr. and Doris Pittman Murphy who resides at home. Charles received his education at Poughkeepsie High School. He was a laborer with Chiaramonte Construction in Washington, DC. He also worked at Clark Construction as a welder. Charles had a contagious smile. He was married to Angela Lemos who survives at home in Poughkeepsie, NY. Charles is survived by his devoted Mom, Doris Murphy, four sons: Charles Murphy Jr., and Shemar Parker, of Poughkeepsie, NY; Shiron Murphy of New Jersey, Yasin Miller of Albany, NY; and one daughter, Ne’Char Murphy of Poughkeepsie, NY. If Tears Could Build A Stairway

If tears could build a stairway

And memories were a lane

I would walk right up to heaven

And bring you back again

No farewell words were spoken

No time to say goodbye

You were gone before I knew it

And only God knows why

My heart still aches with sadness

And secret tears still flow

What it meant to lose you

No one will ever know

But now I know you want me

To mourn for you no more

To remember all the happy times

Life still has much in store

Since you’ll never be forgotten

I pledge to you today

A hallowed place within my heart

Is where you’ll always stay.
