Charles Potok Jr., 76, of Annapolis, Maryland, formerly of Crofton, Maryland, died peacefully at home on January 5, 2023.
Charles was born November 21, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of La Salle University, Philadelphia, PA. After graduation he continued to fulfill his military obligation within the U.S. Army. Charles was honorably discharged from the Army and he married his first wife Nancy (Gannon) in October 1972. As a civilian he continued to support the Department of the Army as an accountant in Japan. Upon returning Charles and Nancy settled in Crofton, Maryland, where they raised their children, Kristen and Gregory. Charles continued his federal service with the Department of Agriculture holding a variety of finance positions.
The Potok family were active members of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Charles served as an usher and a volunteer for several of the Parish’s outreach programs.
Charles is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Genevie Potok and his first wife Nancy.
Charles is survived by his second wife, Sharon Cook, daughter Kristen, son Gregory, daughter-in-law Amanda, granddaughter Charley, brother Wayne and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 1800 Seton Drive, Crofton, Maryland, on Tuesday, January 17th, from 11:00a – 12:00p. A Mass will follow at 12:00pm with internment at Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
