Charles "Tjerk" VanderWeit

On Monday, January 6, 2020 Charles VanderWeit died peacefully at home in Crofton, Md. Beloved husband of Karyn; loving father of Odessa, Lucy, Kim, Staci and Chuck. Also, survived by 13 grandchildren, with two more on the way, 3 great grandchildren, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Elsie; his son Mattheus and grandson Cory.

Charles was born in Genum, Holland. His family migrated to the U.S. in 1950, where he was raised in New Jersey. He enlisted into the Air Force, worked at NASA and then retired from the Federal Government after 30 years.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm, at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Hwy. (Rt. 3 South), Bowie 20715. Flowers are welcome; contributions may be sent to your charity of choice.
