Cheryl Ann Little

January 27, 1965 — June 22, 2023

Chester

Cheryl Ann Little (Craig) was born to adoring parents James and Pecola Craig on January 27, 1965 in Washington D.C.  She was the youngest of four siblings: Douglas (D), Charlene and Darryl.  Cheryl attended Saint Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church and School where she completed her Sacraments.  Her strong academic foundation allowed her to graduate successfully from Bowie High School in 1983.  She immediately embarked on her career with the Federal Government.

Cheryl flourished as a Public Health Analyst with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services receiving numerous awards and recognition over the course of her career. Her generous spirit also lead her to mentor and assist colleagues navigate the federal career landscape.

Cheryl was absolutely a beautiful and magnificent woman (BMW).  Family and friends could always count on her energetic support at special life moments.  She bravely volunteered to donate a kidney

to her mother which significantly improved her quality of life.  For nearly a decade, Cheryl cared affectionately for her father, preparing daily home cooked meals and taking him on regular outings.

There was not a luxury brand unknown to our beloved.  She took great pride in her appearance and was always dressed in the latest and greatest fashions. When she wasn’t shopping, Cheryl was roller skating, dining out, spending time with friends or traveling across the globe.

Cheryl loved God and believed in the power of prayer.  She found comfort and joy in the song "Somebody Prayed for Me" and would often proclaim in excitement "Can't nobody do me like Jesus!"

Cheryl retired after 38 years of federal service and built a custom dream villa on Kent Island, MD in 2021.  Her home was thoughtfully decorated showcasing her contemporary style.  She quickly adapted to the community and joked about being on “Kent Island Time” getting a bicycle, walking the nature trails and lounging at the neighborhood clubhouse.

God peacefully called our loved one Cheryl to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 22, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. May God guide each of us toward gratitude and love for a life well lived.  Cheryl was preceded in death by her Parents - James and Pecola; Brother - Douglas; and Nephew - Craig Everett.  Also, she leaves the following loved ones to cherish her memory - Sister - Charlene; Brother - Darryl; Nieces - Courtney Everett, Kelli Craig; Great Nieces - Kennedi Brown, Nina Everett. Great nephew - Landon Everett; and a host of relatives and friends.
