Christina Marie Hickok-Burch, 56, of Crofton, Maryland passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous, one year battle with cancer.
Born February 5, 1970 in Schenectady, NY to the late Stanley G. and Elaine M. (Groff) Hickok, Christina was a 1988 graduate of Notre Dame- Bishop Gibbons High School. Christina continued her educational pursuits at the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York where she earned a Master of Science in Communication Disorders.
Her career as a Speech Language Pathologist spanned 31 years working in post-acute and long-term care settings most recently at Autumn Lake Health Care in Crofton, Maryland. As a well-respected member of the rehabilitation team, Christina was often sought out by her colleagues for guidance and advice. She cared deeply for her patients and was dedicated to her coworkers and career. She brought both humor and a calming presence to her workplace, earning the respect and affection of everyone who worked alongside her.
Christina’s greatest joy in life was being a mother. She devoted her life to raising her children with unwavering patience, boundless love, and gentle guidance. She created a warm, welcoming home that was filled with laughter and loving support. Her strength, courage, and nurturing spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her children.
In addition to time spent with family, Christina enjoyed traveling, reading, her daily word games, and she loved her cats. An enthusiastic participant at Crofton Jazzercise, she brought an infectious energy and a joy to every class she attended.
Christina is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Brian Burch; her children Kaitlin and Matthew Burch, and sisters Judith (Anthony) Marconi, Nancy (William) Tudor, Sally Culbert, Theresa (Joseph) Luby; brother-in-law John Pollock.
Christina was pre-deceased by her parents and sister Susan (John) Pollock.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life ceremony to share stories, laughter, and fond memories of Christina at the Blackwall Barn and Lodge in Gambrills, Maryland 5pm-8pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Please bring memories, stories, and pictures to share.
