Concetta Marcella Crupi, lovingly known as Connie, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 19, 2026. She was born on January 23, 1944, in Nizza di Sicilia.

The daughter of immigrants, Connie grew up in Northwest Washington, D.C., where she developed the strong values of family, faith, and hard work that guided her throughout her life. She graduated from St. Cecilia’s Academy and went on to begin a distinguished professional career, working for the Federal Reserve and later at The White House during the administrations of two Presidents.

Despite her professional accomplishments, Connie’s greatest joy and proudest achievement was her family. She was the beloved wife of Lawrence (Larry), with whom she shared 51 wonderful years of marriage filled with unwavering love and devotion.

Connie chose to leave her prestigious career to dedicate herself fully to raising her three children — Joseph (Joey), Michael, and Francesca (Brian Gill) — creating a home filled with warmth and love. She later reentered the workforce and became a familiar presence at Crofton Mini Storage, where she worked for more than 20 years before retiring to help care for and raise her six beloved grandchildren: Antonella, Marcello, and Marciano Crupi, Leo, Alexander, and Nathaniel Gill, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Connie was deeply devoted to the Catholic faith and was very active at Holy Family Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Her faith was a guiding light and pilar throughout her life and a source of strength and comfort until her last breath.

She found peace by working in her yard and gardening. Connie loved cooking and hosting, especially Thanksgiving and the Legendary “Crab Feast”. Family and friends fondly remember that it was never surprising to be greeted at the front door by Connie with a Cutco knife in hand, often in the middle of preparing a meal. Her home was always filled with love, laughter and the comforting feeling that everyone was welcome.

She was the loving sister of Nina Baccanari; Anthony Nobilio and his wife Mary; Rose Pantazis and her husband Mike; and Stella Graves and her husband John. Connie also leaves behind her Son in Law, Brian Gill, 12 beloved nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, and countless extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph Lawrence; her father, Arturo Nobilio; her mother, Veronica Nobilio; Neice, Stephanie (Stacy) Nobilio; and Nephew, Authur (Arty) Baccanari.

Connie will be remembered for her gentle heart, quiet strength, generosity, devotion to family, deep faith, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her love and legacy will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and all whose lives she touched.

May she rest in eternal peace.
