Courtney Marie Johnson

Courtney Marie Johnson, 37, beloved wife and mother, passed away on September 3, 2023 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Courtney was born on March 24,1986 in Bath, Maine. Courtney grew up in Alna, Maine, graduated from Wiscasset High School and attended the University of Maine at Farmington. Courtney joined the U.S. Navy in 2007 and served for 6 years with honor and distinction. Her career in the Navy took her across the country and brought her to Maryland, where she put down roots and built her family.

Courtney was the beloved wife of Matthew Kaiser and the devoted mother of Toby Johnson and Hannah Kaiser. Daughter of Marie Johnson and the late Rex Johnson. Sister of Kimberly Johnson MacLeod, sister-in-law to Michael MacLeod and Marta Kaiser, and aunt to Ella, Riley, Willa, Miriam, and Abigail. Daughter-in-law of Michael and Miriam Kaiser. Dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues will miss her. 

Taken from us suddenly at the peak of her life, Courtney’s impact on the world is in the joy she instilled in everyone she met. Courtney made you feel important and valued. She acted on her sense of kindness, fairness, and justice.

She loved more than anything to be with her family.  A perfect day for Courtney was time spent with them. She was a friend to animals and rescued 2 dogs who are still well-loved members of the family. 

Her devotion to her family was matched by her loyalty and service to the country which led her to service in the US Navy and work at the National Security Agency. In her professional career, Courtney was highly regarded for her skills and was duly recognized by the National Security Agency. Never one to break a promise, Courtney recently followed through on a family promise and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from American Military University.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 17, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Beale Funeral Home.
