Craig M. Gimperling

October 23, 1979 — June 18, 2024

Crofton

Craig Michael Gimperling, 44, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, after battling a respiratory illness.

Craig is survived by his parents, Barbara and John; his brothers, Cory and Jesse; his niece, Lauren, and her mother Sharee; his nephews Noah and Lane and their mother Natalie; his beloved aunts and uncles; his best friend and travel companion Julie; and many other dear friends.

Craig was born, raised and resided in Crofton, Maryland, Craig graduated from York Technical College with an Associate Degree in computer technology. He took pride in his contributions at the River Hill Sunoco station in Clarksville, Maryland for the past 20+ years. Craig was a dedicated employee and a fixture at the station. He will be missed by his coworkers, and the scores of customers who came to visit him.

Craig was a kind soul. He persevered. His holiday gifts to family were always the most thoughtful and creative.

In his free time, Craig enjoyed watching stand-up comedians and movies, especially comedy, action and horror genres. Craig also loved to travel. He made multiple trips to see favorite shows in New York City, visited Disney, San Diego, and often visited family in Boston during Halloween season for a special side-trip to Salem, Massachusetts. Craig enjoyed humor and a good story - especially if it was a little “spooky.”

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2 PM at the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church, located at 1657 Crofton Parkway, Crofton, Maryland. There will be a reception following. In honor of Craig’s lifestyle, we invite all attendees to come in very casual attire! In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Prince of Peace at popchurch.org.
