Darrick Lamar Brown

Darrick L. Brown, the man who was larger than life, transitioned unexpectedly on August 13th, 2022 at his residence in Bowie, Maryland at age 55. He was born March 22, 1967, in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Sam Brown and Geneva (Hendricks) Brown, affectionately known as Jean.

Darrick graduated from Douglass High School, Class of 1985 and went on to attend college at Florida A&M University (FAMU) where he graduated as a proud Rattler, Class of 1989. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Storm of The Gulf War. Later in lifehe joined the Masonic Order. He married the love of his life, Malina Hasan-Brown, on March 22, 2008, and they settled in Bowie, Maryland where they created a warm, loving home for all to gather.

Darrick worked alongside his wife at what became a successful, 20-year long career in real estate. He was a loving husband, a dedicated father and a devoted friend who loved to challenge his loved ones to a game of cards. He was a member of Unity of Washington D.C. Church.

Darrick was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Brown. He is survived by his wife, Malina Hasan-Brown; his 3 daughters, Nailah Hasan, Neenah Brown and Chloe Brown; Siblings, Terry (Jenny) Brown, Sam (Alexis) Brown III, Shea (Tiffany) Brown, Shawn Brown, Samara Brown, Fatima Hasan, Baaith Hasan. His mother-in-law, Shukriyyah Hasan. Nieces and Nephews; Madison, Caidan, Devyn, Mecca, Iyonnah, Zahyra Drew (Samuel IV), Skylar, Luke and Forest. God Family Mark and Loretta Otero; God Children, Cheneice, Markeila and Markie (Marian) Otero; God grandchildren, Madison, Monte, Brooklyn, Bailey, Blaire, Grace and Marleigh; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
