Douglas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his immediate family who loved him dearly. He leaves a strong legacy, 7 children, 22 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, He also leaves to mourn, his life companion, Brenda Fulse, who cared for him up to his final moments. He is preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Shelby Jean McDowell.
