Douglas Lewis Manuel, Jr.

Douglas "Fresh" L. Manuel, Jr., born on September 2, 1978, at P.G. Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, surrounded by family and close friends.  He was 46 years old.  

Doug and his twin sister Rhiannon Manuel, shared a special bond from birth.  The family spent some time in Arlington, Texas, before returning to Maryland in 1992, where Doug spent much of his life.  On December 30, 2024, Doug suffered a ruptured aneurysm at the base of his brain and never regained consciousness.  Despite this sudden tragedy, he was comforted by the presence of loved ones during his final moments.

Known affectionately as "Fresh" to his friends, Doug was celebrated for his great sense of humor and generous spirit.  He was always willing to lend a hand and brought joy to those around him with his warm personality and quick wit.  His kindness and laughter left an indelible mark on all who knew him.  Doug was an organ donor and his contribution saved several lives.

Doug is survived by his mother, Judi Robertson, his twin sister, Rhiannon Manel; his sister Ashley Manuel, and his nephew Carter Barrett.  He is also remembered fondly by other family members and countless friends who cherished his companionship.

Doug's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.  May the laughter he shared and the kindness he showed bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
