Ed Howard II
Ed Howard II passed away at the Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center in Lanham Maryland, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from an unexpected illness. He was 49 years old. He resided in Laurel MD. Ed spent his childhood in Prince George’s County, Upper Marlboro MD. He attended and graduated from C. Elizabeth Rieg School, Mitchellville, as part of his curriculum he served as a youth volunteer at the Old Maryland Farm. After graduation Ed served as a volunteer in various programs. At age 25 he transitioned into independent living.
Ed was energetic. He loved bike riding, horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, bowling, and taking care of animals especially dogs (he was pet friendly). He never felt that it was impossible for him to achieve the things that he enjoyed doing. Whatever he set his mind on doing, he accomplished it. He enjoyed all genres of music especially gospel music. When he was six months old, he would fall asleep with classical music playing in the background. As he got older, he would ask to hear the soft, soothing music that he grew to love. His love for the Lord was immeasurable. Ed was elated and proud of himself in taking the step in being baptized into Christ. He enjoyed singing hymns and listening to his bible tapes.
Ed loved being around people. He would get excited when planning cookouts, parties and would invite his teachers, classmates and anyone whom he felt was his friend to the family cookouts.
He enjoyed his place of residence, and loved and respected his caregivers and the staff. He and his housemate were co-conspirators… of course, in a good way. He was a compassionate loving, kind, and forgiving person. Ed had such a wonderful, infectious smile for which he was always being complimented on.
Ed Howard II was born on September 6, 1973, to Ed Howard Sr. and Celestine Joyner
Ed is survived by his loving mother Celestine J. Grimm; (stepfather); sister Achim Howard (formerly known as Cetenia Elisabeth); Mary Brown, (Aunt); Robert Joyner (Renee) (uncle); and a host of cousins and friends.
