Today we honor and celebrate the life of Eddie Lee Moore, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Surrounded by loving family, Eddie was called to his heavenly home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the age of 65.
Eddie was born on April 15, 1960, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late Danny Moore and Martha Louise Brown Moore. He grew up in Bibb County, where he attended public schools and graduated from Southwest High School in 1978.
Shortly after graduation, Eddie began his distinguished career in the United States Army. His service took him across the world, including tours in Seoul, Korea, Thailand, and across the United States to Alabama and Maryland (Frederick, Aberdeen, and Ft. Meade). Known for his discipline and dedication, Eddie proudly served his country until his retirement from the military in 1997 with the rank of E-7.
Following his military service, Eddie embarked on a second career with the Federal Government, working for the Department of Health and Human Services. He faithfully served in various managerial positions until his retirement in 2017.
On November 28, 1986, Eddie was united in holy matrimony to Altha Stallworth. Their union was blessed with one son, Cedric J. Moore, who brought immense joy and pride into Eddie’s life.
Eddie will be remembered for his love of jazz and old school music, his skill as a BBQ grill master—especially his famous ribs—and his passion for running especially in his early years. His laughter, warmth, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Altha Stallworth Moore and son, Cedric J. Moore, both of Glenn Dale, MD; his brothers Benjamin (Jackie) Moore of Glen Burnie, MD, and Robert (Velma) Moore of Macon, GA; and his sister Zonia (Larry) Pitts of Macon, GA; his devoted caregiver, Abbie Dean of Maryland; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charlie Curtis Moore and Danny Moore and niece Roshonda Moore Gordon.
Eddie’s life was one of service, love, and faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.
