               Obituary              

Edi Elaine Murphy was born in Rose Hill North Carolina to Enoch and Bessie Matthews. Elaine was educated in the public schools of her community. She was an excellent student; who was the Valedictorian of her high school class.  After high school, Elaine matriculated to East Carolina College, where she graduated with high honors.

Upon her graduation from college, Elaine migrated to the Washington DC area.  Here she began an illustrious career as a developer of residential real estate.  Elaine prospered in her career and the areas of Montgomery and Frederick Counties of Maryland give proof to the quality of her talents as a builder.

Elaine said goodbye on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 just over one month since celebrating her 102^nd birthday.  She leaves behind her cherished daughter, Karen Anne Murphy Clark, her son- in- law, Dr. Jerome Clark, her beloved grandson, Jared Andrew Clark, and her great grandson, Jae Sean Clark  She also leaves behind nephews, nieces, other family members and a host of friends.  “Mom, Granny, Elaine, Mrs. Murphy, Aunt Elaine”, all names which spoke to how she related to all of us….with love and gratitude for her being in our lives…The Family
