Edward G. Jones

Edward Jones, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend, departed this life on Sunday December 31, 2023, at Brookdale Woodward Estates in Bowie, Maryland.

Edward Garfield Jones was born May 20, 1927, in Lenoir, North Carolina, to the late Houston and Fannie Jones. At the age of 17 he joined the army, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served active duty for twenty-five years continuing his military service in the reserves. He worked at The University of the District of Columbia as a counselor where he retired. Ed enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and working in his yards. He always had photographs available that showcased his latest adventure.

Ed leaves behind a beautiful family to cherish his memory: daughter, Zaiafanice Lipscomb (Ronald), grandchildren Stephanie and Ronald, two nieces, four nephews, and a host of cousins.

He was preceded in death by wives Inez Cannon Jones and Monnie Allen Jones, sisters Emma Jean Jones Cannon and Francis Jones Mitchell, and stepmother Eugenia Dula Jones.
