The traveling adventurer, Eli Sasaran, has embarked on his next adventure into the glorious path of eternal life. We celebrate the gift of his life from our God of love. Eli loved to travel the world, especially in the wonderous continent of Africa. He collected many beautiful pictures of animals, waterfalls, hills, and people. He loved to learn about history and leaders, as well as watch movies from the 1950’s and 60’s. Eli was also a writer of short stories, a drummer in his younger days, and someone who developed a joy in reciting the rosary.
He completed a master’s degree at the prestigious School of Foreign Affairs at Georgetown University in Washington DC, and spent his life working in the federal government, primarily focused on Africa.
Eli was so proud of his grandchildren, Lazarus McCarthy and Rose McCarthy. He loved to tell stories and commend them for their accomplishments in music, sports, and school. He loved to hear them laugh and to laugh with them, especially with his jokes. Eli had an incredibly generous spirit in the love he shared with them.
Eli’s spirit is carried forward by his two children, Eli Sasaran McCarthy and Lara Sasaran, as well as his daughter-in-law Joy McCarthy. He is also carried forth by his sister Susan Mamula and brother-in-law Steve Mamula, while enjoying the companionship of their children, his nieces and nephews, Marci, Eliana, Joseph and Stephen (deceased). He is also carried forth by the mother of his children, Connie Totera-Holtz. He joins his parents in this new life, Catherine (Poleski) Sasaran and Eli Sasaran.
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.” Irish Blessing
