Early Life and Background

Evang. (Mrs) Esther Adetobi was born on September 6, 1957, to the family of late Madam Rebecca Oluwatola Osunsanmi and Pa Cleophas Awonusi in Okeluse Ose Local Government, Ondo State, Nigeria. She was the youngest child of her mother, among 17 siblings from both parents. She was deeply rooted in a strong Christian heritage, as her mother was the daughter of a devout Christian patriarch who championed the establishment of the first church in the town. During her teenage years, a life-threatening event occurred where she fell gravely ill. Esther’s condition deteriorated to a critical point where medical interventions seemed futile, In the face of despair, her mother sought divine intervention and landed at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC). Esther experienced miraculous healing, an event that not only restored her health but also ignited an unwavering devotion to God and to the church.

Evang. (Mrs) Esther Adetobi’s educational journey started at the renowned St. Paul’s Primary School in Okeluse. Thereafter, she proceeded to the Anglican Modern School, which sparked her chosen teaching career. She gained admission to the prestigious St. John/Mary's Teachers' College in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria, and graduated as a qualified teacher. She was determined to broaden her knowledge and enhance her professional expertise by obtaining the National Certificate of Education (NCE) from the Lagos State University and an advanced Diploma in Education from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. With a change in residence to the United States of America (USA), she obtained her Licensed Practitioner Nursing (LPN) certification and home care nursing certification.

Work and Career

Evang. (Mrs) Esther Adetobi began her career as a teacher at Akinsemoyin Primary School, Alaka and Secondary School Adeniran Ogunsanya, Lagos, Nigeria after earning her teaching qualification, embracing the profession not just as a job but as a ministry. In the USA, she continued her professional journey at Howard University Hospital as an astute LPN which led to her home care nursing career, caring for specialty patients with pulmonary conditions until June 2025.

Spiritual Journey

Evang. (Mrs) Esther Adetobi was a devout Christian. She embraced Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal Saviour at an early age, dedicating her time to daily prayer meetings, choir, and active involvement in her local church. Her passion for prayers stayed with her to the end. Her teaching education also helped with taking on the challenge to be one of the Sunday teachers in Nigeria and USA. She later became one of the leadership members for the Latunde Regional CAC church Sunday school rally coordinator. Recognising the abundant grace of God upon her life and her unwavering passion for evangelism, Mrs. Esther Adetobi was ordained as an Evangelist in CAC in Burtonsville, Maryland.

Gentle yet resolute in her faith, her belief in the power of prayer, love for the body of Christ, led her to become the head minister's wife at CAC overcomers chapel for over 20 years and then, the Cornerstone supretendant minister's wife.

Marriage, Family Life and Motherhood

Evang. (Mrs) Esther Adetobi was married to Pastor Amos Adetobi, and their marriage is blessed with four daughters and many grandchildren. Alongside her husband, she raised her children in the way of the Lord and instilled good morals and discipline in them. Evang. (Mrs) Esther Adetobi was not a mother to only her biological children but raised many other sons and daughters from both close relatives and the church. Many of which have children of their own, making her a grandmother to many others as well.
