Frances L. A. Glaze

Frances was born on April 19,1935 in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies. While living in Trinidad she began the arduous process of obtaining her nursing education, always with a sharp eye on the prize, the acquisition of a quality nursing education. In 1956 she migrated to England where she completed her nursing education and began her career as a registered nurse.  While in England, she met and married Frank Glaze and had three children, Frank Jr., Patricia and Carol.  In 1964 the family moved to her husband’s hometown in Jamaica, WI.  In 1968 she moved to New York with her children where she resided and worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals until she retired in 1995. She moved to Maryland in 2001 to be closer to her family.

She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friends and family, cooking, sewing and going on infrequent trips to the casino where the slot machines were her favorite attraction. Frankly speaking, her luck was pretty good.  She enjoyed music and her favorite artist was Nat King Cole.  She was a great caretaker to all in her family   where she took the time and effort to ensure that no bruise or scratch went unattended

Frances passed away peacefully at her home on January 6, 2023, at the age of 87.  She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who had the ability to transform a room, affecting everyone she encountered with a positive vibe.

Those who she left to cherish her loving memories are daughters Pat and Carol, son Ian; grandchildren: Isaiah, Tyriq, Stephen Jr,. Karyn and Michael; spouses: Walter, Mona,and Keisha; great grandchildren: Micah, Kadrian, Kane and, Kalaia; nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Isadora DeVertuil; brothers Eric, Horace, Hue and Cecil; sisters: Josephine and Sybil her husband Frank Albert Glaze, and her son Frank Albert Glaze Jr.
