Frances L. McCleaf

Beloved mother and grandmother, Frances Louise (Berbig) McCleaf of Bowie, MD peacefully passed on to be with her Lord on July 3, 2022 at the blessed age of 93. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Dorothy Berbig, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by her children:  Larry (Joyce) McCleaf, Sherry (Bill) Shackett, Cindy (Bobby) Edwards, Brenda (Tom) Schwartzbeck; grandchildren: Michael Phillips, Kina White, Alicia Harris, Rachel Alderson; great grandchildren: Scott, Aislynn, Jayden, Kenyan, London, Olivia; and 4 great great grandchildren.  Frances was born and grew up in Bowie, MD later moving to Seabrook to raise her family. She worked as a bookkeeper and a school bus driver. She was a member of Bowie UMC (United Methodist Church), sang in the choir and was active in Ladies Bible Studies.  She loved to dance, ride horses with her family, go on long rides on the motorcycle, and crochet many beautiful blankets which she gave to others.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  A celebration of her life will be held at Bowie UMC at 13009 6^th Str.20720 on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 11-12:00 noon.  She will be put to rest at the Oakland/Calvary UMC, 11345 Berry Road in Waldorf, MD  20603.
