Frank Gouveia, 89, of Crofton Maryland (formally of Parsonsburg, Maryland) concluded the “dash” in is life on January 23,2024. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Gouveia. He graduated from Lowell High School, Class of 1953. Shortly afterward he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving a tour of duty in Korea and ending his enlistment at Hanscom Field in Bedford Massachusetts.
He retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Washington DC in 1989 and relocated to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Bop enjoyed interacting with his grandchildren, bass fishing out his back door and later on observing the antics of his beloved Missy. He especially enjoyed the camaraderie he shared with his fellow volunteers at the local soup kitchen.
He is survived by his daughters, Sheryl Taylor and Lynda Fogle (Jerry); his grandchildren Brian (Carly) Dent, Tina (Mark) Filuta, and Dylan Taylor; his great grandson Duke Dent and great granddaughter, Makenzie Filuta; and his sister Suzanne Gouveia and her partner Margot Laskin. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Marie Anne (Fitzgerald) Gouveia who passed away in 2006 and man’s (his) best friend, Missy, who departed this world in 2016. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to your local animal shelter.
