Frank Joseph Varga III

Frank Joseph Varga III. of Bowie, MD, passed away at home, surrounded by his loved ones on May 10, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. Varga II and Dorothy (Campbell) Varga, as well as his sister Donna (Varga) Dolan and niece Dawn Dolan.

 

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Deborah Gibson Varga, his children Frank (Christina), Heather (Diego), Heidi (Randy), his sister and brother in law Brenda and Edward Thompson.

 

He was a proud grandfather of 10, Tabitha, Leo, Joshua, Christian (Jessica), Gabriel, Haleia, Annabelle, Ryan, Edward and Everlie, and two great grandchildren, Noah and Eliana. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

 

Frank graduated in 1966 from George Washington HS, in Alexandria, VA. He was a retired crane operator for Operating Engineers Local 77. He was a huge Washington Redskins, Nascar, and Maryland Terrapins fan. He loved any kind of racing and spent most Saturday nights in the summer at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, VA with his brother in law Edward and nephew, Ryan. 

 

Frank was a huge presence, life of the party, family comedian, and cornerstone. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all.

 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
