Frederick M. Horton, III

Frederick Mast Horton III died on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at his home in Silver Spring, Maryland. Born on April 1, 1954, he was 72 years old at the time of his death. Fred was predeceased by his parents Frederick Mast and Elvee Wasson Horton, grandparents William Baird and Inez Mast Horton, and by his brothers Frederick Mast Horton II and Raymond Horton. He is survived by his two older brothers, William Baird Horton II, and Lee Edwin and his wife Barbara Boythe Horton. He is also survived by his younger brother Thomas and his wife Joanne Bradshaw Horton. Fred also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews as well as friends, coworkers, neighbors, and loving relatives in Louisiana (Elvee's family).

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21st, 2026 at 4:00pm at:

First Baptist Church of Crofton 

1690 Crofton Pkwy, Crofton, MD 21114.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Memorial Trees be planted.
