Gail A. Edwards

Gail Ann Edwards passed away suddenly on September 19, 2025 in Lanham, Maryland at the age of 78.

She is survived by her husband, John Edwards and her son, Scott Edwards. Predeceased by her parents, William Horace Soper and Margaret Soper. Survived by her sister, Mellie Lindenberger (predeceased brother-in-law Philip Lindenberger); predeceased sister Sondra Sewell (brother-in-law Philip Sewell); and many nieces and nephews.

Gail and her husband John, married in 1970 and together raised their son Scott. She lived a full and loving life, devoted to her family. Gail enjoyed relaxing and having daily devotional and prayer time with them in the evenings.

Gail graduated from Southern High School in 1965. She worked for the Hecht Company for five years and was also a School Bus Aide for the Prince Georges County Board of Education Transportation Department for 30 years. She was highly regarded and loved the kids she assisted.

Gail loved keeping up with political issues and was a huge football fanatic watching college football on Saturday’s. Gail rooted for Alabama’s “Crimson Tide” and would also watch professional football on Sunday’s, rooting for the “Washington Commanders”.

Gail will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the many people who knew her.
