Gale Marie Varga

Gale Marie Varga was granted her final wish when she passed away on July 22, 2026 after a 3 year battle following a major stroke. She was born in Bayonne, New Jersey on January 14, 1958 to Roger and Phyllis Varga, who both preceded her in death.

Gale is survived by her brothers Dan (Patty) Varga and Doug (Sue) Varga as well as nieces and nephews Sarah (Michael) Grubbs, Nick (Lyndsay) Varga, Derek (Brooke Stohl) Varga, and her great niece and nephews Ava Grubbs, Mitchell Varga, and Henry Varga.

Gale moved at age 3 with her parents and older brother Danny to Miami where they lived until age 14. While there, they welcomed her little brother Doug to the family.

Gale moved to Bowie, Md. where she entered junior high and then onto Bowie High, class 1976. She would remain a Maryland and DC resident for the rest of her life.

After graduating from high school Gale was very successful as a customer service and account rep for multiple different office supply companies, EDS, and a wine supply company. Her clients spoke very highly of her calm voice and pleasant interactions.

Gale was a fisherman at heart. She loved to sit on the banks of the Potomac River and fish. She also enjoyed crabbing in the Annapolis area, and she especially enjoyed eating the fruits of her labor.

Our hearts ache that we have lost Gale’s boisterous laughter as well as her warmth and love for family and friends. But we are also grateful that she is now at peace. We can’t help but smile as we imagine the reunion she shared with her friends and family, especially that first embrace with her Dad.

We love you Gale! You will be greatly missed and always remembered.
