George Walter Mayeske

September 9, 1930 — May 24, 2022

George W. Mayeske, husband of Betty Jo and Father of David and John died on May 24 of Heart Failure. George earned a PhD in Psychology from the University of Illinois and worked for over 30 years for the Federal Government in Washington D.C.. He served as a Program Analyst and finished his career with the Dept. of Agriculture. As Dr. Mayeske, he wrote a few books, the most well known being A Study of the Achievements of our Nation's Students.

In his spare time, he was an avid Gardener, a talented Swimmer and a fan of Opera. He spoke Spanish fairly well. He regularly took trips to Pompeii, Italy, and assisted his wife Betty Jo with the Pompeii Food & Drink Project. He led a very active life in the city of Bowie for over 50 years. George maintained an interest in the environment and hoped for and spoke for a better world through the decrease in Carbon emissions. His hope is one that he and his loved one's share together. He is and will be sorely missed!
