Gregory Michael Walsh

Gregory M. Walsh, 70, of Bowie, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, after a long-term illness, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on December 8, 1955, in Washington, DC, to Laurence A. Walsh and Doris M. Walsh f/k/a Strain, Greg lived a life defined by devotion, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. Early in their marriage, Greg and his wife, Anne M. Walsh f/k/a Saskiewicz, welcomed their daughter Chrissey, who brought tremendous joy and purpose to his life. Chrissey later married David J. Wilkison, and Greg took great pride in the life they built together. Their daughters, Lydia and Melody, were the light of his later years, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Greg was a fully ASE Certified Master Technician, a distinction that reflected both his exceptional skill and his deep dedication to the automotive field. Over the course of his career, he worked for Merchants Tire and Auto, Goodyear Tire, and CarMax of Laurel, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike. The highlight of his professional life was serving as the Owner and Operator of P.G. Car Clinic in Seabrook, MD, where he poured his heart into the business and took pride in providing honest, reliable service to the community.

Although formally trained as a mechanic, Greg possessed many talents. He was a builder, a plumber, a chef, and a baker extraordinaire — the kind of man who could fix anything, create anything, and make a home feel full through his skills and generosity. He embraced every challenge with confidence, curiosity, and a craftsman’s touch, never passing over the opportunity to try something new.

Greg’s passions were as vibrant as his personality. He was a devoted Washington Redskins fan, cheering faithfully through every season. He loved NASCAR, especially when Jeff Gordon took the track. His home often echoed with the unmistakable sounds of George Thorogood and Creedence Clearwater Revival, played at the high volume that made him smile. He also enjoyed classic television — The Andy Griffith Show and anything on TV Land were among his favorites. Above all, Greg never passed up a good crab cake from Rips Restaurant, a simple pleasure that brought him genuine joy.

Greg is survived by his father, Laurence A. Walsh of Loris, SC; his wife Anne; his daughter Chrissey and her husband David; and his granddaughters Lydia and Melody. He is also survived by his siblings Patricia H. Walsh, Francis J. Walsh (Rachel Torrence), Theresa A. McGregor (Michael), and Mary E. McKaig (Shawn Miller); and by his niece Lori Saskiewicz, who helped care for him with great dedication. He was predeceased by his mother, Doris M. Walsh, who passed on October 31, 1979, and by his sister Margaret A. “Peggy” Smolarsky, who passed on July 20, 2021.
