Helen Rose Williams

June 17, 1938 — July 17, 2022

A Time to be Born: Helen Rose Williams was born on June 17, 1938, in Thomasville, GA to Herbert and Hattie Mae Smith.

A Time to Love: Helen was joined in holy matrimony to Frank Williams in New York City.  Blessed from this union, that had two children, their son Kevin Michael Williams, and their daughter, Natasha Hattie Williams.  Helen was also blessed with two grandchildren, Ashley Rose Williams and Daniel Franklin Williams.  She also loved her pets that she nicknamed her “three nurses,” Yoda (dog), Maria (dog), and Lola (cat).

A Time to Live: Helen graduated from Sarah J. Hale High School in Brooklyn, New York.  While working for the U.S. Postal Service, Helen pursued her dream of becoming a registered nurse and graduated from Prince Georges Community College in Largo, Maryland in 1978.  After working at hospitals in Maryland, Washington DC, and later Florida, Helen retired from nursing at the age of 75. Helen’s favorite hobbies were gardening, painting, and sewing quilts.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, she sewn and donated over 2500 masks to local seniors, her church, Prince Georges County, the veterinary hospital, the U.S. Post Office, family, and friends. She was honored by the City of Bowie and Prince Georges County for her tireless efforts.

A Time to Die:  On early Sunday morning, July 17, 2022, God peacefully embraced Helen for her journey home.  Helen will forever remain in our hearts and her spirit shall live forever.

A Time to Mourn:  Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank.  She leaves to cherish her memory her children Kevin and Natasha; her grandchildren Ashley and Daniel; her sister Veronica Rose; her brother, Fred Smith; her Aunt Rosetta McLawhorn; her dear friend Jan Forman; her pets Yoda, Maria, and Lola; and many more friends, family, relatives, and in-laws who were close to her heart.
