Ian Van Rucker

January 3, 1991 — November 4, 2021

Ian Van Rucker, 30, died the 4th day of November 2021, in Bowie, Maryland.  Ian was born January 3, 1991, at Holy Cross Hospital in Montgomery County, Maryland.  He was predeceased by his father, Jackie Lee Rucker, Jr., his sister, Samantha Lee Rucker, and Grandparents, Robert Joseph and Carol Marjorie Hysan, Carl Sterling Blackburn, Jackie Lee Rucker, Sr.

Ian was a graduate of East Hardy High school, he was the guy that was always happy to see you, despite what was happening in his life, and around the world.  Ian was more than happy to welcome his loved ones with the biggest smile, a kiss on the cheek, the best energy, and the warmest hug.

Ian was smart.  Very sharp.  He loved metaphysics, philosophy, and never turned down an opportunity to engage in deep conversation.  He was sweet, selfless, and brave.  He loved music, all kinds of music, and had a true gift with musical instruments.  He could learn and play anything you put in front of him.  Ian went through periods where he would write poetry and songs.  Ian loved to draw and swim.  When he loved, he loved deeply.

Ian was survived by his Mother, Kelly Klein Rucker, his twin Sister Amber Sue Rucker, sisters Cortney Ann Schmidt, Sarah Rucker Albertson, Keirstyn Paige Rucker, and Chloe Ann Rucker.  His Grandmother, Janice K. Blackburn, his Aunt, Kimberly Jo Rucker, his Uncle, David Scott “Scotty” Klein, and many Great Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, and friends.

Ian was especially close to his cousins Rachel Sara Elizabeth Rucker Lively, Miranda Rose Kaufman, Candice Marie Pearl Klein, and Joseph David Klein.
