Iris "Jackie" Crowley

In loving memory of our beautiful mom who passed away on June 4^th, 2023. Jackie was born on July 24^th, 1939 in Bluefield WV. Her parents were William Byrd Akers and Clytis Ula (Pruett) Akers. Mom grew up in Bluefield and graduated from Beaver High School in 1957. She met Thomas Patrick “Pat” Crowley and they married on November 11, 1960. Dad took a job with the DC Government, and they moved to Washington DC.  In 1969 they moved to Bowie, MD where they spend the rest of their lives. Jackie and Pat were both involved with the Bowie Boys and Girls club. Jackie worked for the PG County School system. They loved to go on cruises in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Mostly, they enjoyed spending time with their children and grand-children.  They also loved the companionship of the dogs they raised.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Pat (2011), her sister and best friend Freda Worth of Phoenix AZ and Freda’s husband Bob. Her parents, Willie and Clytis of Kingsport TN. She is survived by her children, son Mike of Catonsville MD and his daughters Teresa Hallman of Lafayette, Indiana and Christina Kane of Ocala, FL , son Chris of Crofton MD his wife Ann-Marie and their children Chloe and Cannon, daughter Denise of Crofton MD.  

You were a loving wife, mother, grand-mother, Aunt and wonderful friend to many. Your kindness and beautiful smile will be missed forever. 

A viewing will be held at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie MD on July 15^th from 2-4pm.
