On Saturday, August 12th, 2023, James "Jim" Edward Garman of Annapolis, MD, passed away. He was the devoted father of Brooke Garman and David Garman. A lifelong Redskins fan, and an Orioles fanatic, Jim was a master at finding the perfect seat at Oriole Park. Friends and family have fond memories of the meals prepared by Jim, especially his briskets! Jim loved keeping up with many friends on Facebook, with his posts challenging our thinking; or making us laugh out loud. Born in Queens, NY, Jim grew up in Bowie, MD, where he was an alum of the Bowie High School Class of 1973. Recently, Jim was excited to be working on that Class' 50th Reunion. Upon leaving high school, Jim joined the Army and was stationed in several locations in Germany. Upon leaving the military, Jim took advantage of his GI Bill and attended the University of Maryland. A true Jack-of-All-Trades, Jim’s career had him doing home renovations and painting throughout the Annapolis area. In addition to his children, he is survived by his mother, Ann Pitcher, and five siblings (Jack, Ann Rittenberg, Patty Curtin, Chris, and Eileen Theis) and his longtime partner, Susan Jorgensen. His father, Jack, and his stepfather, Jim Pitcher, predeceased him. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD. A Celebration of Life will be planned for later in September, in the Annapolis area. Please view and sign the family's guestbook at www.beallfuneral.com
