James Michael Maloney

James “Joey” Michael Maloney, age 77, died of pancreatic cancer on May 10, 2026 in his home. Cared for by his wife, Lynn, children, family and friends. Jim and Lynn were married for 55 years.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, James (Michelle) and Mark (Rebecca), his grandchildren, Aidan, Peyton, Owen, Sloane, Gavin, Henry and Edward, his sister, Kathleen Maloney, cousins Timothy and William Larkins and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents John Lawrence Maloney and Jean Adele (nee Larkins) Maloney Schneider. His son, Michael Shawn Maloney and his brother, John Thomas Maloney.

He was born in Dunkirk, NY and graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School and St. Joseph’s College with a B.A. in business.

He was a key Account Executive for General Foods and moved his family to Crofton, MD.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Family, friends, and co-workers will always remember how much fun he was to be around, his great sense of humor, and ability to connect with people. His co-workers would say he could talk a dog off a meat truck.

Visitation is scheduled at Beal Funeral Home in Bowie, MD on Tuesday, May 19 from 7-9PM. A Catholic mass will be held at Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Crofton, MD on May 20 at 11AM.

Mass will be followed by interment at Our Lady of Fields Catholic Church in Gambills, MD with a reception to follow at Frisco Tap House in Gambrills.
