James Brady Whitman

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our son, James Brady Whitman, 53, of Washington D.C., on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

James was born on December 3, 1969 at Cafritz Hospital, Washington, D.C., to Barry Bartlett Whitman and Barbara Sue Goforth Whitman. He was raised in Camp Springs, Maryland and graduated from Crossland High School. For most of his career, he worked in the service, hospitality, and retail industry in the Washington metro area. He enjoyed classic TV and music and going to movies and concerts.

James was preceded in death by his father, who died in 2015, and his sister, Kari Lynette Whitman, who died January 26, 2023. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Fitzwater; stepfather, John Fitzwater; brothers B.J. Whitman and Thomas Fitzwater (Katie); and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A service will be held Friday, March 10th at 2:30 p.m. at Lakemont Cemetery, 900 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, Maryland.
