With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jeffrey “Jeff” Minogue on November 14, 2024. Jeff was the youngest of five boys from an Irish Catholic family who grew up in Wheaton Maryland. Jeff was predeceased by his parents John Minogue, Sr, and Frances M. Minogue and a brother Patrick Minogue.
As a young teenager, Jeff played in a youth basketball league and was a good player. Being a young guy in the 1960s he wore his hair long to the envy of his older brothers. Every year Jeff was guaranteed to have his birthday celebrated by his family because Thanksgiving usually fell on Jeff's birthday and we were already together.
Jeff had a passion for cars all his young life. After Jeff got his driver's license he bought and rebuilt a 1966 Chevy Nova 327 Super Sport, it was Jeff's pride and joy. Later Jeff sold the Nova its replacement, a 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, still pristine and treasured in his garage today.
In his thirties, Jeff later moved from his first home in Beltsville to Bowie to help care for his brother Patrick.
Along the way, Jeff picked up a knack for joking and using words and puns to make people laugh and smile. His family thought they were corny but we all laughed anyway.
Jeff worked at Labcorp at the time of his passing. Jeff was always generous and donated time to the church by cutting the grass or donating time and money when needed.
Jeff was a devout Christian and is loved by everybody whose life he touched.
Surviving family to cherish Jeff’s memory are his three brothers; Michael Minogue of Bowie, MD, John Minogue, Jr of WV, and Matthew Minogue of GA, a niece, a nephew and many cousins.
Jeffrey’s time on this earth was stopped suddenly and unexpectedly. Jeffrey still had a lot of wonderful things to accomplish for his Church, his family and friends, and himself. His surviving family misses him dearly.
