John Emery Lacey, Sr.

John E Lacey, Sr, 79, of Bowie, Maryland passed away on December 8, 2023 at his home.  John was born December 16, 1943 to the late Francis and Sara Lacey.  John was a lifelong member of Kentland Volunteer Fire Department.  He was a diehard Redskin and Nationals Fan.  He loved his sports.  He played Golf and in his younger days, played Baseball.  He was actually pretty good and was  a draft contender for the Washington Senators as a Pitcher.  After retiring from the Automotive Business, he loved working in his yard and spending time with his neighbors/friends and his Dog LoBo.  He was said to have the best looking yard in the neighborhood.  He loved spending time with his family especially the grand and great grand children.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by His brothers James “Jimmy” Lacey and and Joe Lacey.  He is survived by his beloved Gina Grim Edgett; sons John E Lacey, Jr. (Donna) and Michael Lacey.  Grandchildren John E Lacey, III (Wendi), Jeffrey Lacey (Lindsey), Jason Lacey and Nicolette Lacey.  Great Grandchildren Jayde and Walker Lacey and Easton Lacey; and his nieces and nephews that he cared so much about.

Honorary Pallbearers will be John Lacey, III, Jeffrey Lacey, Jason Lacey, Charlie Kimmey, Mike Samordick, Danny Daniels.

Family will receive friends for John’s Life Celebration with Visitation on Monday, December 18 from 12-3 with a service at 2:30 at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Highway, Bowie, MD.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please make a Donation in John’s Name to Kentland Volunteer Fire Department, 7701 Landover Road, Landover, MD  20785
