"Jose Antonio Ocasio, born on June 11, 1936, in Corozal, Puerto Rico, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025. He lived in the DMV for over the last 50 years.
Jose Antonio was a proud United States Army veteran who honorably served his country during the Korean War. His service was a lifelong source of pride for him and his family.
He was a kind man with strong faith, which guided his life and values. Above all, Jose Antonio treasured his family, who were the center of his world. His love, wisdom, and gentle presence touched everyone who knew him.
Jose Antonio enjoyed sports particularly, football & baseball. He absolutely loved playing Dominoes, especially with his grandchildren. He had a love for horses and horse racing, taking walks, and watching anything John Wayne, which always brought him joy.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Blanca L. Ocasio.
He leaves behind his loving children Mildred E. Perez (Hector), Sandra Moreno (Denis Urbina), Wilberto A. Ocasio (Elizabeth), and Vivian Ocasio Richards (John); his beloved grandchildren Brandon Perez, Nicholas Ocasio (Gabriella), Jordyn Walston (Joseph), Daniel Ocasio, Norrelle Urbina, and Jeffrey Perez; as well as a multitude of cherished family members and friends in his beloved homeland of Puerto Rico.
Jose Antonio will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation is planned for 11:30-1pm on January 2, 2026 with Mass at 1pm Mass at St. Matthias the Apostle in Lanham, MD.
