Our beloved Kari Lynette Whitman, 56, of Crofton, Maryland passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, after battling cancer.

Kari is survived by her son, Tyler Whitman; mother, Barbara Fitzwater; stepfather, John Fitzwater; brothers B.J. Whitman, James Whitman, and Thomas Fitzwater (Katie); and many cousins, nieces, and dear friends.

Kari was born in Wareham, Massachusetts to Barbara (Goforth) Whitman and the late Barry Bartlett Whitman. She was raised in Camp Springs, Maryland and graduated from Crossland High School and Bowie State University.

Kari lived a full and rich life. She loved exercise, fitness, and nutrition. She touched many lives with her kind heart, optimism, positivity, vivacious personality, and a smile that could light up any room. She was full of energy and an inspiration to many.

Kari worked in the ophthalmology/optometry field for many years. In 2013, she started her own business connecting people with personal health and wellness products. This business, and the relationships she built, was her passion.

Kari left this world far too soon and will be greatly missed.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. A celebration of Kari’s life will be announced soon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kari’s memory to a charity of your choice.
