Karin was born on February 22, 1935, in Jena, Germany. She became a United States citizen in 1968 in San Francisco, California. She was the proud mother of one son, Andre.

Karin's passion was her beloved Boxer dogs. Under her nationally recognized kennel name, Karmel, she dedicated decades to breeding, raising, and exhibiting Boxers with exceptional success. She competed in American Kennel Club-sanctioned dog shows throughout the East Coast, traveling from New York to Florida. One of the proudest moments of her distinguished career came when one of her Boxers earned a prestigious ribbon at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at Madison Square Garden.

As an accomplished breeder, Karin produced 13 champion Boxers, a remarkable achievement that reflected her knowledge, dedication, and love for the breed. Her contributions to the Boxer community were recognized in the book The World of the Boxer by Rick Tomita, where Karin, her dogs, and her Karmel kennel are prominently featured.

Beyond her many accomplishments, Karin was known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to mentor others. She freely shared her knowledge with new Boxer owners, offering guidance on whelping, raising, training, and exhibiting their dogs. She built lasting friendships within the Boxer community and was respected for both her expertise and her warm spirit.

Karin was active, fun-loving, and brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her warmth, laughter, compassion, and enduring love for her family, friends, and beloved Boxers will be remembered always. She is deeply missed, but her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the champions she helped create.
