Kendra (K-LA) Lee Anderson, a cherished resident of District Heights, Maryland, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 48 years old. Born on October 4, 1976, in Cheverly Maryland, to Eldridge and Erma Anderson, Kendra’s life was a symphony of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family, friends, and community. She is preceded in death by her father and beloved sister, Marlene Gabriel.
A proud graduate of DuVal High School, Class of 1995, Kendra’s passion for music earned her a full band scholarship to the historic Grambling State University in Louisiana. As a talented musician, she marched and performed across the globe, bringing joy and unity through her artistry. In 1999, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and returned to the Washington, D.C., area to embark on a distinguished career with the Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia. As a respected forensic scientist and expert witness, Kendra’s contributions to the field were marked by integrity, precision, and an unyielding commitment to justice.
Beyond her professional achievements, Kendra’s vibrant spirit extended into event planning, where she became a sought-after force behind international pageants, seminars, conventions, festivals, weddings, and female empowerment gatherings. Through her creativity and meticulous attention to detail, she transformed every occasion into a memorable experience. Her passion for bringing people together was not just a profession but a testament to her generous heart and deep love for celebrating life’s moments.
A woman of faith, Kendra’s presence was a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a beacon of wisdom, strength, and boundless kindness. Her charm, vision, and resourcefulness were the cornerstone of every gathering, and her infectious energy—often highlighted by her legendary line dancing with a cordless DJ mic in hand—brought pure joy to those around her.
Kendra leaves behind her devoted mother, Erma Anderson; her three loving brothers, Terence (Michele), Francis (Frank Cisco), and Sabree’ (Wowwee); as well as a host of cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who adored her deeply. Her legacy of love, resilience, and faith will forever echo in the hearts of those she touched.
